Watertight is a proud member of the NRCA. Today we are celebrating employee training as part of National Roofing Week. As a company, we feel that keeping our TEAM trained and updated on all the new roofing systems and technology is vital to our success. As a company, we provide the following training for our employees: lift-forklift & aerial lift, torch, fall protection, 10 & 30-hour OSHA construction safety and health, torch applicator, rigging/signal person, and any additional training that will benefit our TEAM to make them stronger and keep them safe.

Juneau Construction awarded us the contract for roofing on the new Georgia Tech West Campus Dining,http://www.juneaucc.com/Portfolio/Current-Projects/Georgia-Institute-of-Technology_West-Campus-Dining . We are extremely excited to work with Juneau to complete this project.
Our crew is moving right along on Madison County High School’s re-roof project for Charles Black Construction. The main roof section is dried in using a GAF 3 ply asphalt system. Ruberoid MOP 170 FR will be installed within the next few weeks to complete the roof installation. The second roof section will be completed using the same GAF system within the next month.
With the summer months quickly approaching our work load grows daily. Currently we are looking for roofer helpers to join our team. Our company specializes in commercial and industrial roofing. We install the following roofing systems- TPO, BUR, Mod Bit, EPDM, Standing Seam Metal, Metal Wall Panels, Shingles, and Slate. If you have determination to learn then we have the patience to teach and train you. Our employees are one of our biggest assets.
In observance of National Safety Stand Down Week- May 02- 06, https://www.osha.gov/StopFallsStandDown/index.html, our field crews have hosted several safety lessons on preventing falls in construction. This morning each of our crew leaders lead a safety lesson with their crews instructing them on proper ladder set up, inspections of the ladders, and safe work practices for climbing and carrying ladders. Our crew leaders constantly review fall preventing lessons with our on weekly bases.
Last Friday morning our team members meet to discuss and demonstrate the purpose and how to properly use fall protection equipment. Each member of our staff demonstrated the proper and correct way of wearing a harness; checked their safety ropes, and d-rings for damage. Our foreman discussed the proper way to rescue a fallen team member and the importance of time. Our employee’s safety is our biggest priority!
While most people were on white sandy beaches enjoying their spring break week, our team was hard at work getting a jump start on Roswell North Elementary School. Our field crew completed a re-roof using Carlisle’s new APEEL TPO membrane on the highly sensitive Media Center. We are looking forward to working with Swofford Construction during the summer to complete the remaining portion of the re-roof to give Fulton County School System a new watertight roof.
