Employment Opportunity – Job Site Superintendent
The Superintendent position will manage and control assigned projects, including overseeing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, and supplier coordination. The superintendent reports directly to the superintendent and works in conjunction with the Project Manager leading the project team.
A. Client Loyalty
1. Understand and communicate to all field personnel the owner’s goals regarding construction.
2. Maintain positive relationships with the owner’s and architects throughout the project(s).
B. Pre-Construction/Construction
1. Provide technical expertise throughout the pre-construction/construction process.
2. Assist in the management of the pre-construction/construction schedule.
3. Communicate both orally and in written form to the contractor’s superintendent.
4. Complete any required contractor’s documents/forms pertaining to job progress and performance.
5. Attend job-site meeting to represent the company. Communicate all information to subcontractor or employee foreman that is necessary to complete the project.
6. Consult with project manager for any changes to project out of the original scope of work.
C. Safety
1. Insure job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all project personnel and subcontractors. Continually strives for Zero Injury on all projects.
2. Lead on-site safety meetings.
3. Watch for and correct all safety hazards at the job-site. Report all safety incidents to safety personnel.
D. Planning
1. Review the plans and specifications for constructability and construction schedules and advise the project team of issues or deficiencies.
2. Understand subcontractors contract scopes.
3. Schedules and procures tools and equipment necessary for the project.
4. Mentor and train other employees as necessary.
Job Requirements:
□ 2 to 5 years related experience or equivalent role (Commercial and industrial construction experience a preferred)
□ Willing to travel in state.
□ Available to work weekends if necessary.
□ Valid Driver’s License is required.
□ Ability to pass a drug test.
□ Proficient in understanding building plans and specifications.
□ Team player with field supervision, project management and company administration staff.
□ Safety standards knowledge and enforcement
□ Ability to remain calm, focused and effective under time pressure situations.
□ Self-starter with ability to set goals and tasks with strong leadership skills.
